Well I’ve not been on here in a while, but here is the original code that I used. I have no idea if this will still work with current release versions of the cam. My cam is still running, she’s a bit rough on the outside, but she still works.

FIXED! Most of the problems with wvc54gca are caused by the wrong firmware. The current v1.1.01 build 01 will break the motion detection completely. Linksys is no help at all. You MUST install firmware v1.1.00 build 02, that is the only one that will fix all the problems with this camera. And don’t use the oldest v1.00R24, that won’t work with wpa2 passwords, and the motion detection sensitivity area won’t work with this version. Here is the link to the download for the correct v1.1.00build02 (actual filename is: DYFF08-407-110002.bin This is a german drivers site that I found the download on. Here is the long link. Hi all,
My WVC54GCA was working great until I had a network problem and called Linksys Tech Support. They had me update the firmware to v1.1.01 build 01, and it completely stopped the motion detection recording feature. I did have v1.1.00 build 02, and it worked fine. Now, I can’t go back to that. Linksys says they don’t have it (they WON”T), all their Foreign tech people are pretty worthless. I realized that my problem was only a router change, but it was too late, the update was already forced on me from them. Anyway, I can’t find anyone with v1.1.00 build 02. If anyone has it, please let me know. I did find v1.00R24 on a site, and tried it, but that doesn’t work with the wpa2, it won’t save the passwords. Like I said, only v1.1.00 build 02 worked for me. If you have this, please let me know. Thank You.

Done! I have finally got it! I have been checking the source code of the cam through the browser and I have been able to build two scripts to enable and disable the motion detector. These scripts can be in internet (in my case, a domain of my own), so you just need to load and URL to switch. Now I can switch on/off the motion detector before entering home without entering to the admin section of the cam. As I have an iPhone, I can put and two icons in the springboard to fast switch the Motion Detector (of course, an internet connection is needed . Also, just one button can be build to call a web page with the buttons submit buttons you need. If anybodoy wants the code, just ask.

Hi Mark. I have bought this cam a few weeks ago and I would like to know if it is possible to switch the motion detector on or off with a simple URL so I can enable/disable with a hit of a shortcut in my iPhone. I am not sure if an URL can be parsed with the contents of the form that posts the option “Enable Motion Detection” and the FTP and email actions at the same time. If it can’t be done, another option could be to make some script so I can upload to a web site and execute it. Can you help me?

Sonja, the audio doesnt work on these cameras usually. There are many flaws with the camera and they are already on the shelves because Linksys just throws their shit out for the lower eschelon public to eat up and spit out, but Linksys already got your cash. They dont care because they make their money from the buisness-line products. These cheap consumer level, half-working crap just gets slung out as cattle feed for Cash-Flow and we are stuck trying to make a flawed item work properly, which isnt going to happen. Do yourself a favor in the futre and stick to the linksys cheap routers only. Its th eonly linksys product that ever worked reliably from box to box. If you want video equipment, purchase it from a video cam ‘maker’ or “optics” maker such as Panasonic and Axis have some good ones out.

execute. I am receiving a message that linksysviewer.cab unknown publisher.
Am running running Windows XP.
Any suggestions on how to allow Linksysviewer.cab to run?
